Before the war, Founder Howard Westcott and his wife LaVerne both lived and worked in Jerome. Howard worked for his parents in their restaurant and also worked in the mines. LaVerne was a nurse at the hospital there. Howard later served an apprenticeship in the local funeral home in Jerome.

Upon his return from College, he worked at a funeral home in Phoenix until 1948 when they moved back to the Verde Valley and began the Cottonwood Funeral Chapel.

They owned and operated that funeral home at that same location for 38 years.

Steve & April Palmer of Final Care Services, Inc. purchased the Westcott Funeral Homes of Cottonwood and Camp Verde on January 2, 1997. Howard Westcott still served as the Responsible Funeral Director of the Camp Verde chapel until his death in September 2001.

In September 2016, Terry and Leah Pinnick with TL Pinnick Mortuary, Inc. purchased Westcott Funeral Homes from Steve and April Palmer. We are dedicated to continuing the tradition of Howard and La Verne Westcott and Steve and April Palmer in offering personal, love, compassion, dignity and respect.

Westcott Funeral Home is extremely proud to be a family owned business that has gained the trust of the Cottonwood and Camp Verde area since 1948 and has grown, adapted and continues to serve the entire Verde Valley.

Our facility has been updated in the past couple of years by adding new furniture, updating computer system, new embalming equipment and new vehicles, but our mission has always remained the same "to treat everyone we have the privilege to serve as if they were our own family and constantly support our community." We will do whatever is legally and ethically permissible to please the families we serve.

Our business is established to offer a wide variety of burial and non-burial dispositions working with all families, in all price ranges for their funeral and cemetery needs. We believe that Westcott Funeral Home provides the finest care and most compassionate service available to our community.
