Vickie L. Garcia

Vickie Lee Garcia (nee Burkeybyle) passed away at her Cottonwood, AZ home on October 5, 2019, at the age of 66. Born in Anchorage, AK, and formerly of Berkley, MI and Terre Haute, IN, Vickie was a loving and proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved to travel and spend time with her family. A true trailblazer, Vickie served as the first female automotive mechanic in the history of the United States Air Force.

Preceded in death by her parents Loretta (Floyd) Bodi of Royal Oak, MI, and Robert Burkeybyle of Florida, Vickie is survived by her husband, Anthony Garcia; children Alan (Esther) Hahn of Phoenix, AZ; Lisa (John) Hoover of Ferndale, MI; stepchildren Stefan (Christine) Garcia, of Valparaiso, IN, and Karen (Nathaniel) Doctor, of Ashland, MA; and brother, Terry (Karen) Burkeybyle, of Clarkdale, AZ, as well as nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family members.

Respecting Vickie's wishes, there will be no formal services.
