Vernon Douglas Randall (06/25/1944 – 09/04/2025)

Vernon Douglas Randall, 81, of the Yavapai Apache Nation Camp Verde, died on September 4th,2025.

He was born in Camp Verde, AZ, in 1944 to Mart D. Randall and Lula Early Hammond Randall. His siblings Everette Randall, Niomi Delonie, Victor Ketchum, Vincent Randall, Delphine Randall, Dorinda Buck, and Michael Randall.

Vernon attended Clarkdale High School before joining the military.

A proud Vietnam Veteran, Vernon Randall served 3 years in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Corporal before he was honorably discharged. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines Division. While serving his country, He was awarded:

National Defense Service Medal

Good Conduct Medal

Vietnam Service Medal & ended his service July 27,1966.

All his dedication and hard work were evident to everyone who knew him, he decided to re-enlist on March 1, 1967 and was sent to serve in Vietnam once again. After a total of 2 more years in service, he was graciously awarded:

Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Star

Presidential Unit Citation- it is the highest award given to a U.S. Military Unit for extraordinary heroism, and gallantry in action against an armed enemy under extremely difficult and hazardous conditions.

Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star, for Valor and heroic conduct.

After faithfully serving our Country Vernon was Honorably discharged on March 1, 1969.

Vernon was proud to have done his duty to help defend the freedom of citizens across this country. After his military career he also had determination to fulfill his education journey, he completed his Bachelors in Science in 1979, he secured his Masters of Education from NAU in 1998 and excelled in National Judicial College in 2001. He continued to teach and coach at Kivalina High school in Alaska, Hopi High School, and Prescott College.

Vernon's legacy will continue to shine brightly through his accomplishments. He touched our lives in profound ways, and the lessons he taught us will guide us in the future.

Vernon is survived by his nieces Cheyenne Randall and ShaNae White. His grandchildren Katie Randall and Jacob Randall. As well as his great-grandchildren Delicia Randall, Rori Ogle, and Emerson Ogle.
