Michael Paul Karn

July 22, 1977 — November 13, 2025

Michael Paul Karn, 48, of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 13, 2025, with his wife and son by his side.

Born on July 22, 1977, in Bangor, Maine, to Doreen Lane Buxton, Michael was lovingly raised by his adoptive parents, Bruce and Pat Karn. Mike was a gentle and kind child who grew into a gentle and kind adult who was often described as a “teddy bear” of a man. He played football as a Center and Nose Guard during his high school years in Niskayuna, Cobleskill, and Oneonta, New York. He was a proud and devoted telecommunication technician who rose to the position of Operations Manager at Optimum, where he worked for nearly 18 years. He also found great joy in being a truck driver, known for his ability to parallel park a tractor-trailer and his love of giving tours of his "tricked out" truck.

Mike was a fearless protector of those who might be stepped on, with a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to his community. He had a wry sense of humor that drew people to him. Mike is dearly loved and fiercely missed.

Mike’s greatest pride was his son, Aidan Patrick Karn. He lived for his family, and banter with his soulmate, Rolande “Ro,” and loving every moment of being an uncle to nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rolande LeBourveau-Karn, and his son, Aidan. He is also survived by his brothers Eric Karn and Keith Karn (Christina); his sisters, Jeanne Kimble (Jimi); Linda Wixom, and Annie Drennan (Kirk). From his birth family, which he reconnected with as an adult, he is survived by his mother, Doreen Rogers (Lane); his brother, Robert Casey; and his sister, Anna Leah Watkins. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla “Pat” Karn. He is also survived by his archnemesis, Tuco the cat.
