Mattie L. Fields

Mattie L. Fields, 55 of Clarkdale, passed away on Friday April 19, 2024 in Phoenix. She was born on August 24, 1968 in Cottonwood to Morgan Johnson Sr. and Louise Johnson.

Mattie attended Clarkdale-Jerome school. She worked at Cliff Castle Casino. Mattie enjoyed sewing, listening to live bands and spending time with her grandkids.

Mattie was preceded in death by her husband Fred Fields and parents Morgan Johnson Sr. and Louise (Jackson) Johnson. She is survived by her sons Frederick Fields (Carla Lane) and Mitchell Fields (Betsy Charley) both of Clarkdale; daughter Matilda Cassadore (Edward) of Camp Verde; brothers Morgan Johnson Jr. (Irene) of Camp Verde and Marvin Johnson (Annette) of Clarkdale; sisters Lucille Johnson and Libby Johnson both of Clarkdale; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be held at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Visitation will begin at 8:00am with the service at 9:30am. Burial will follow at Middle Verde Tribal Cemetery in Camp Verde.
