She was born September 14, 1951 in Crescent City, California to Brooke Joy Johnson and Kathleen Margaret Hall Johnson.
\tShe married the love of her life, Bob Gates (Known to many as Bobby), July 15, 1987. They spent 41 wonderful years together, living a life that they loved. Thirty-three of those were as husband and wife.
\tShe was a hard-working woman, who spent 25 years as a server for the former Sizzlers Restaurant, where she made many friends, both coworkers and customers alike.
\tKathy was a loving mother to Dustin and his wife Ana and grandmother to Isabella, Brandon and Dillon.
\tBesides her husband, she is survived by a son, Dustin Kurtley (wife Ana) of California; brothers Brooke Johnson (wife Terri) of California; Bruce Johnson (wife Debbye) of Washington and Craig Johnson (wife Kimber) of California; many nieces and nephews, and three grandchildren.
\tThe family held private services.
