Joan Marie Wilson

Joan Marie Wilson, of Cottonwood Arizona was 82 years old when she entered heaven after a long battle with dementia. Joan was born in Saint Paul, MN on October 29th, 1933 and passed in Cottonwood, AZ on July 4th 2016. Joan graduated from ASU with a degree in education in 1955 and later from ASU with a master degree in education. Joan is in Who\u0027s Who. Joan taught in Phoenix Union School District at the start of her career, and left the Washington School District in Phoenix, AZ after 27 years during which she taught third, fifth and sixth grades. Joan believed in a good education so much that all of her grandchildren have college degrees that she generously helped fund before her passing and include bachelors, dual bachelors, a masters, a doctorate and a grandson currently working on a doctorate. Joan retired from teaching to start her second career as a Realtor. She worked at Ed Post, Coldwell Banker and Realty Executives. She finally retired in 2007 at the age of 73. In the early 80s with double digit interest rates, Joan sold two mobile homes affixed to lots for cash and carry-backs that equaled 25% of the total sales in Maricopa County for a fiscal quarter. She was a Multi-Million Dollar Producer who helped low income families purchase homes, sold mansions and corner malls. She owned several rentals and taught most of her tenants budgeting to buy their own homes. Joan was a loving mother and wife while married. Joan loved all her family, extended family and friends. Joan, in heaven, has joined her parents Ervin and May Kleinschmidt, her siblings Victor Kleinschmidt, Ruth Soule and Judy Kleinschmidt. She left behind her adult children Don Wilson (wife Diana), Derrick Wilson (wife Rhonda) and Julie Schwartz (husband Steve). Also, adult grandchildren Jason Wilson (wife Jessica), Joshua Wilson (wife Diana), Stewart Wilson, Tiffany Wilson, Jennifer Schwartz and Michael Schwartz. Also, great grandchildren Ava Wilson and Nathan Wilson. Joan\u0027s living siblings are Betty Neeley (husband Calvin), Sue Curry (husband Nard), Bonnie Meyers (husband Lee) and Ed Kleinschmidt (wife Barb). She was also blessed with many nieces, great nieces, great-great nieces, nephews, great nephews and great-great nephews. She will be missed by all.
