Joan Maine

L. Joan Maine, known to friends and family as Joan, was born November 10, 1931 in Sterling, Colorado. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 19, 2011 at the age of 79. She was married to Robert Maine on September 4, 1953, a marriage which lasted over 50 years. They were long time residents of Lake Montezuma. Joan is survived by her six children, Bobby (Peter) Craven of Flagstaff, AZ, Jane (Jim) Burson of Benson, AZ, David (Lori) Maine of Cottonwood, AZ, Tim (Connie) Maine of Omaha, NE, Mary Blalark of Hugo, OK, and Jim (Missy) Maine of Lake Montezuma, AZ, eighteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Her joys in life were her family, friends, fresh tomatoes from her garden, experimenting with new recipes at family gatherings and travel. She was loving, caring, accepting of everyone and will be deeply missed by family and friends. No one ever left her home empty handed or empty hearted. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Verde Valley Christian Church in Cottonwood at 11:00am. Burial will take place in Clear Creek Cemetery in Camp Verde.
