WARD, Janet Lynn (Potter) - Age 74 years, passed suddenly Friday July 17th 2026, in Prescott Valley, Arizona. She is survived by 5 children John (Teri) Dayen, Christina (Kenny) Martiney, Danielle Ward, Joseph Ward, David Ward, and 2 step-children Therese Ward, and Kimberley (Allan) Nagar. She was a beloved Grandmother to 13 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Janet worked diligently to support herself and her family, after the sudden death of her husband Walter B. Ward in 2005. Janet was the daughter of Harold and Dorothy Potter, born September 4, 1951 in a small town in Minnesota, and the youngest and last survived of 5 children. Being born well past her siblings led to her being very close to her nieces and nephews. Janet graduated with a bachelor’s in health and a minor in nutrition at the University of Houston in 2018 at the age of 67, and was the first person in her family of four siblings to graduate from a university. She was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and was always an active participant of her church and community. Along her life’s journey she adopted every stray person she met, leaving behind a very large hānai family. She loved everyone, and will be deeply missed by all.
