Gwen Medeiros

Gwen Medeiros went to be with the Lord on December 15. She was born on November 22, 1941 to Antone Almeida and Emma Andrade. She was 74 years old. She is survived by her companion of 40 years, Ronald Lizotte; son David Medeiros of Natick, Massachusetts; and brother Gene Almeida of Ayer, Massachusetts. Gwen was a vivacious soul. She was a strong advocate for animal rights and donated her time and charitable contributions to many animal organizations throughout her life. Gwen also loved music and the arts. In her later years, moving to the Verde Valley, she developed a passion and interest in many styles of percussion. She studied drumming and often sat in with several local musicians and bands. She also performed with her Methodist church band and The Arizona Dun Dun Ensemble. She will be missed by her family and friends. Private services will be held.
