Cora Lea Payne

Cora Lea Payne, born Oct. 27, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away March 3, 2025, in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Cora’s professional life included being a secretary and salesperson at a carpet company and operator for a telephone company. She sold beef jerky at a roadside stand in her later years. Cora had a heart for helping others and volunteered at several local charities. She was a treasured blessing at Bridge of Mercy food bank where she worked tirelessly with her friend, Stacey Hayden.

Cora is preceded in death by one son, Ron; sister, Linda; and brother, Art Woodward. She leaves behind two sons, Roger and Bill; nephew Roy and wife, Donna; and niece Kathy Daniels who have been great assets to her; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and beloved sister, Carol Russell.
