In Loving Memory of Bettie Charlene Criswell Lund

Bettie Charlene Criswell Lund, age 78, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026.

Born on March 10, 1948, in Tucson, Arizona, Bettie was the daughter of Delmer and Helen Criswell. She spent her life between Arizona and California, building a legacy of love, hard work, and generosity that will be remembered by all who knew her.

Bettie was a devoted mother to her sons, Marcus (Karen) Williams and Kevin (Beth) Williams, and a proud grandmother to Hannah, Lisa, Spencer, Kirsten, and Chris. She is also survived by her sister, Thyna; her brother, Rodney; and many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmer and Helen Criswell, her sister Delene, and her brother Everett.

Throughout her life, Bettie wore many hats. She worked as a professional photographer, caregiver, employee at a glass bottling company, manager of a one-hour photo lab, and waitress. No matter the job, she brought dedication, compassion, and a strong work ethic to everything she did.

Bettie loved dancing, music, cooking, and gardening. She found joy in bringing people together and making others feel welcome. Those who knew her will remember her as loving, strong, generous, funny, caring, and resilient.

Her generosity was unmatched. Bettie was the kind of person who would give you her last dollar if you needed it. Family was always at the center of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to care for those she loved. Her sons fondly remember that when they were young, before she disciplined them, she would always say, “This is going to hurt me more than you.” It was a simple phrase that reflected the deep love she had for her children and the care with which she guided them.

Bettie's life was defined not by the things she owned, but by the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the countless ways she helped others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the lessons she taught and the love she freely gave.

A celebration of Bettie's life will be held in October 2026. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a woman whose kindness and generosity touched so many lives.

Though she is no longer with us, her love remains a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
