Anne Justine Nichols

June 9, 1919 — November 4, 2016

Anne Justine Nichols died peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2016. She was 97 years old. She lived a very long, happy and healthy lifetime. Anne was born on June 9, 1919 to Jules and Noemie Neuberg in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. Anne is survived by her daughter, Lynn Soltero of Cottonwood; her granddaughter and her granddaughter's husband Rebecca and Michael Matthews of Cottonwood and their two small children (Anne's great-grandchildren) Mikey and Mia Matthews. Anne's husband, Harry Nichols preceded her in death in 2009 as well as her son Win Charles Nichols in 2008. Anne, being from Luxembourg, lived through and experienced World War II. She had many stories to tell. She met her husband Harry when he was stationed in Luxembourg during the war. They married in 1948 and she completed her naturalization to become a United Stated citizen shortly thereafter and lived in the states ever since. Harry and Anne became passionate and heavily involved into the New Age and Metaphysical beliefs, which led them to Sedona and the Verde Valley in which they bought a home in Cornville in 1986. Harry owned and operated his own small engine repair business called Nichols Saw Shop in Cottonwood. The business was later owned and operated by his daughter, Lynn and it became Lynn's Small Engines. In 2011, her daughter Rebecca (Anne's granddaughter) became owner and changed the name to Verde Valley Outdoor Power Equipment, which is still currently operating. Anne was a wonderful and well respected wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. No services are scheduled at this time. Anne's care has been entrusted to Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
