Travis "Bo" Bohannon, 93, of Camp Verde passed into eternal peace on February 13, 2012. He was born March 14, 1918 in Granbury, Texas on a bend of the Brazos River, to Homer and Maude Bohannon. Travis was the last of seven brothers and sisters.
Travis and Esther, his wife of 60 years, moved to Camp Verde, from California in 1990. Travis continued his work in the Gideons and service to his Lord through the Camp Verde United Methodist Church. He served his country during World War II in the Army.
A saddle maker by trade and a cattle ranch cowboy by heart, Bo did make a few a few saddles for Verde Valley residents.
Bo liked to travel on road trips; enjoyed hunting and fishing and did some roping in days gone by.
He was preceded in death by parents and all of his siblings.
In addition to his wife, Esther, Travis is survived by three children: Ruth Ann Bohannon of Camp Verde; Jeffrey Bohannon (Patti) of Atascadero, California; and Mark (Elisa) of Edgewood, New Mexico. He leaves nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 18 at the Camp Verde United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM. He will be interred in the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix in a private military service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory to the Northern Arizona VA Hospice Care Unit, 500 N. Hwy 89, Prescott, AZ 86313 or to the Gideons International, P O Box 1065, Cottonwood, AZ 86326-1065.
