Robert Wedell

Robert Wedell, 82, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006. He was born on December 25, 1923 in Winton, California to Issac and Lydia (Heppner) Wedell. Robert was a U.S. Veteran of the Navy, having served his country during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. After 22 years, Robert took his retirement from the State of California, Department of Health, where he worked as Supervisor of Materials and Supplies. Following his retirement, he and his wife, Mary, enjoyed extensive traveling both nation and world wide. Within the states, for much of their travel, they would pull their trailer, visiting and staying in various places. Once they were able to visit Nova Scotia, where they stayed on Prince Albert Island. They also had the opportunities to visit Hawaii, Japan, China and Mexico. Robert is preceded in death by his parents and two infant siblings. He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Mary (Roberts) Wedell, also of Cottonwood, Arizona; his son, Stephen with his wife, Joannie, of Walnut Creek, California; his daughters, Pamela of Auburn, California and Marsha of Riverside, California; two brothers, Irwin with his wife, Alvina, of Merced, California and Leroy with his wife, Phyllis, of Bonnersferry, Idaho; four sisters, Mildred Dysart of Merced, California, Viola Jantz with her husband, Obed, of New Plymouth, Idaho, Erma Unruh with her husband, Cliff, of Sharon Springs, Kansas and Jane Wedel with her husband, Harold, of Bonnersferry, Idaho; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Cottonwood, Arizona, where a Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Friday, March 3, 2006 at 11:00am.
