Madeline Skala, 85, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona passed away on Monday, September 10, 2007 in Sedona, Arizona. She was born on May 11, 1922 in Wilmington, Delaware to Howard F. Berg and Ethel A. (Ohlson) Berg. Madeline attended and graduated from the P.S. DuPont High School; following which, she received her Business Degree from Goldey Beacom College. Madeline worked for and retired from the DuPont Company located in Wilmington, Delaware. She was a member of the Elam Methodist Church out of Elam, Pennsylvania. Madeline was an avid baseball fan; she also enjoyed reading and spectator sports. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Nelson Husbands; as well as her second husband, Helmut Skala. Madeline leaves behind her son, Lawrence Husbands with his wife, Ann of Middlesex, New Jersey; her daughters, Lois Kannan with her husband, Mike of Vista, California, and Sherry Woodbeck with her husband, Paul of Chico, California; three grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A Visitation will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., in Cottonwood; with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00pm. Inurnment will take place at the Riverview Cemetery in Wilmington, Delaware. Contributions can be sent to the American Diabetes Association, Yavapai County Chapter, P.O.
