Dorothy Merrill

Dorothy Merrill, 90 of Sedona, passed away on October 15, 2012 in Page Springs. She was born on February 18, 1922 in Phoenix to Phillip Haenel and Magdalena Fischer Haenel. Dorothy attended Phoenix Union High School Class of 1940 and Arizona School of Commerce. She worked for Harry L. Nace Theaters and Motorola Inc. in Scottsdale. Dorothy was a resident of Sedona for over 40 years. She attended Zion Lutheran Church in Phoenix, Grace Lutheran Church in Phoenix and Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Sedona. Dorothy enjoyed singing at various church and social functions. Dorothy will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Burl E. Merrill and brothers Edward and Fred Haenel. She is survived by nephews Michael A. Haenel of Phoenix and Burl Haenel (Carolyn) of Scottsdale. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Sedona Cemetery in Sedona at 9:30am with a memorial service to follow at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, 390 Dry Creek Rd in Sedona.
