Elizabeth (Betty) McGrory, 85, of Cottonwood died May 15. She was born May 2, 1924 in Crete, Illinois, the daughter of Edward H. and Gertrude E. (Hillger) Stelter. She was a graduate of the Luther Institute. Betty worked in the Continental Bank in Chicago, Illinois, where she received the 25 Year Award. She was a well known volunteer for the Chamber of Commerce where she received a Community Service Award. She also served a secretary-treasurer, District 5, of the Arizona Association of Manufactured Home Owners. Betty was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Cottonwood and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. McGrory , a son Edward L. Coyne and a stepson, William McGrory. Betty is survived by a son Richard J. Coyne of Riverdale, Illinois, a stepson, Daniel McGrory (Maria) of Crown Point, Indiana, daughters, Janice R. Coyne and Barabara Kraft, both of Riverdale, Pamela Lamb (Harrison) of Park Forest, Illinois, daughter in law Kyung Coyne of Hagerstown, Maryland and a stepdaughter in law, Rose McGrory of Dolton, Illinois; brothers, Robert W. Stelter of Riverdale, Illinois, James Stelter (Shirley) of Miami, Florida, John V. Stelter (Judith) of Stevensville, Michigan; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 20 in the Faith Lutheran Church at 2 PM. A second memorial service will be held Friday, May 29 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dolton, Illinois at 2:30 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church, 2021 E.
